TSM Health Check
Many consulting firms offer TSM Health Checks. It's a good idea to have a second pair of eyes, especially when supported by data analysis tools. So what's different about our Health Check?
The end result: recoverability.
Our Health Check covers the usual backup performance and capacity metrics. But it also examines 7 different areas that may leave you at risk for a recovery failure. These include:
- False backup success
- Off-site copy validation
- DR plan adequacy
- Performance considerations
- Testing plans
- Inventory of Tier 1/ Tier 2 / Tier 3 systems
- Cross-server dependencies
We include suggested actions for fixing any problems uncovered.
Your TSM team can implement many of these actions. TSMworks consultants can also advise and assist as needed. We're comfortable working remotely (at a lower daily rate), yet fully understand that on-site work may be essential at first.

Servergraph tuning
If you're a Servergraph customer, you may not realize all that Servergraph has to offer. Many customers use one or two features of the product, but ignore the others.
We fully understand Servergraph's capabilities*. We offer training on the base product, including how to tune it to meet your organizations unique needs.
But Servergraph is also extensible. We can implement data feeds from other products - Databases, SAN monitors, etc. - that will appear as graphs, alerts, and predictions within Servergraph. You can see:
- Which nodes use most of your expensive disk array
- Which databases have unused space internally
- Which databases are not deleting older backups
Servergraph's alerts and predictions are not limited to the world of TSM management. With suitable scripting, SG can report
- Growth rates of manufacturing orders vs capacity, and predictions on when you'll hit the wall.
- Help desk tickets opened/closed per day, and average time to close
- Any other metric that a script can extract from any of your systems.
